Ethic permissions (ETT-TUKEB) to obtain and use human tissue samples for research have been obtained from the Medical Research Council of Hungary.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Human Brain Laboratory at the Institute of Experimental Medicine \u2013 <\/b><b>Zs\u00f3fia<\/b> <b>Magl\u00f3czky<\/b><br \/>\nThis collaboration provides human hypothalami fixed by vascular perfusion shortly after death. Such tissues are cut serially with a vibratome and are readily compatible with immunoelectron microscopic studies.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Department of Forensic Medicine of the University of Debrecen \u2013 <\/b><b>Be\u00e1ta Borsay, <\/b><b>K\u00e1lm\u00e1n<\/b> <b>R\u00e1cz<\/b><b> and L\u00e1szl\u00f3 Herczeg<br \/>\n<\/b>A large collection of human tissue samples (N&gt;70) immersion-fixed with formaldehyde are available from this collaboration, in the form of cryoprotected floated sections that are ready to use for immunohistochemistry (11 publications).<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Department of Forensic Medicine, University of P\u00e9cs \u2013 Zsolt Kozma<\/b><br \/>\nA recently established collaboration provides immersion-fixed hypothalamic tissues for immunohistochemical experiments.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>1st Department of Pathology and Experimental Cancer Research, <\/b><b>Semmelweis<\/b><b> University, Budapest \u2013 Andr\u00e1s <\/b><b>Matolcsy<\/b><b> and <\/b><b>Gergely<\/b> <b>R\u00e1cz<\/b><br \/>\nThis Institute is the main source of the short <i>post mortem <\/i>time tissues required for <i>in situ <\/i>hybridization, immunohistochemical and RT-qPCR experiments.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\"><b>Human Brain Tissue Bank \u2013 <\/b><b>\u00c9va<\/b><b> Renner and <\/b><b>Mikl\u00f3s<\/b> <b>Palkovits<\/b><b><i><br \/>\n<\/i><\/b>This unit provides fresh-frozen tissues and slide mounted sections compatible with RT-qPCR and <i>in <\/i><i>situ <\/i>hybridization experiments for specified scientific collaborations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr>\n<h2 id=\"int_res_col\"><b>International research collaborations<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">International collaborations involving research on the human hypothalamus have been established and 9 co-authored papers published with foreign scientists based on common research interest in human reproductive neuroendocrinology. We expect that the formal establishment of HHRU in 2018 will open the way for new European collaborations and the preparation of EU grant applications with international partners and collaborators.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<h2 id=\"resources\"><b>Resources, <\/b><b>support<\/b><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Current funding of HHRU comes from the National Science Foundation of Hungary (OTKA K112669) and the Hungarian Brain Research Program (NAP2) to Erik Hrabovszky.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"72\" height=\"72\" class=\" wp-image-223 alignleft\" alt=\"CZ-Logo\" src=\"\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/01\/cz-logo.gif\"><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This website is generously supported by Carl Zeiss Technika Kft in Hungary.
